Edinburgh

Dr Anne went to Edinburgh a couple of weeks ago.  She is a member of the Youth Services Committee for the RSCDS.  At present she is preparing an accreditation scheme for dancing in schools.  By mistake (senior moment) she booked an extra day.

She had an extra day to explore...  She went to the Bellany Exhibition at the National Gallery and was totally gobsmacked by his paintings.  To Dr Anne, this was a very angry and depressed man who expressed his feelings in an amazing manner.  Three men on a cross dressed in the stripped pyjamas of the the Jews in the extermination camp will remain forever in her mind.

Dr Anne also booked a visit to the Scottish Parliament.  The experience was brilliant.  All over the building the saltire cross is displayed in different forms.  The visual arts received a prominent place throughout.

The cross in the ceiling.

The cross in the floor.

The debating chamber.

Prominent women were asked to write a sentence about a women they revered.  A wonderful idea.
