The Laidlaw Trillogy

Following the death of McIlvanney, Dr Anne decided to read the Laidlaw Trilogy - Laidlaw, The Papers of Tony Veitch and Strange Loyalties in tribute to a person folk classed a national treasure.  She has been converted.  Each one made her reflect on past contexts: Glasgow cultures; Glasgow people; Glasgow Assumptions.

Dr Anne awarded an 8/10.

Horse Troughs and Flowers

Dr Anne always has a theme.  This trip it is horse troughs with flowers.  They are to be found all around Aubonne.  Some date back to the 18th century.

Geneva

Dr Anne set off for Geneva.  Her memories were the flower clock and the jet.

The clock was quite beautiful.

She ended up at the Museum of International Reformation - Luther, Calvin, Knox etc...

Geneva was known as the equivalent of Rome but in Presbyterianism.

Dr Anne remembers Lausanne.  She bought a musical house.  Linda bought a musical toilet roll holder.  This time around Dr Anne visited the Olympic Museum.  Lausanne is the headquarters of the Olympic Committee.
