Dancing

These last three months have been busy with the dancing circuit.  The Banff Ladies Club had their end of term cup of tea and tasty bits last night.  The ladies of the committee had made delicious sandwiches, cakes and tablet.  This was thoroughly enjoyed mid-evening.  

Last week in March

As Dr Anne sits in her favourite room at East Neuk the snow flurries again for the nth time this month.  Dr Anne is looking for Spring... She went out to the garden and there is life.

The snowdrops are now in full bloom and there are cheery clumps in a couple of areas.

The hellebores are in full bloom and are an amazing colour.

Bloms new tulips are peeping through the ground and well advanced in the pots.  

Dr Anne is looking forward to a real show.

The crocuses are in bloom but a bit sparce.

The daffodils are growing slowly and there is an isolated tulip in bloom.

The Paris Wife

JD and Dr Anne went to Paris last June and had a very enjoyable weekend.  At Christmas JD's presents had a Parisian Theme.

Although this book was a novel it linked closely to the life and times of Hemingway and his first wife, Hadley.  The book brought the Paris of the 1920s to life.  Dr Anne awards 7/10.

Daffodils

Greygranite told Dr Anne that she had daffodils in bud.  

Dr Anne's daffodils always bloom late.

Dr Anne was at the back door yesterday and what did she see?

This pot was thrown out of the house after blooming last spring and has sat there unattended.

A nice surprise.

Community Activities

The party goes on...

A coffee morning was held in aid of curtains for the Institute Hall, Portsoy today.  A large crowd attended and were entertained by Anne McArthur's Dancers and the Karate Club.  It is likely that around £700 will be raised.

The afternoon brought the launch of the Soy Quine. The Portsoy Skiffettes have built the boat over the winter.  A reception was held in the Bothy.

First Day in the Garden

This was the first day that Dr Anne has been able to go to the garden.  The sun was brilliant.  The temperature warmer than of late.

Dr Anne pruned The Pilgrim which had been in bloom when she had headed off for Africa. 

 Dr Anne is now well satisfied.

The snowdrops on the sunny side of the garden are in full bloom.  Those under the birch tree will be in full bloom next week.

The yellow crocuses give such pleasure.

100th Birthday Celebration

This is definitely the year of partying.  

Dr Anne's Auntie Cath celebrated her 100th birthday on Friday 22 February.
