1970 Revisité

Linda and Dr Anne hitch hiked down through France to Paris, Dijon, and into Swirzerland.  Dr Anne remembers the lift they got that last part into Geneva.  A man picked them up to practise his French as he had just got a job in Geneva.  It was a big Rover car. The trip took them to Lausanne, Montreux.  They met two guys who took them to the glacier at Château d'Oex.  From there they hitched to Friburg and Bern.  They then went up the east coast to Calais.

SS, next year Dr Anne is going to Bonn.  Should they do 1971 Revisité? Belgium, Holland, the Rhine?

Home Again

Sun is shining today but it is home day.  Really the best day of the week.  It was cheerio to B&B and Fudge and off on the train to Geneva.  Good news... Been upgraded so sitting nice and comfy with free food and drinks in the Club Europe Lounge.

Well, in 2016, it is fountains

If it's Tuesday then it must be Bern

When Dr Anne thinks of Bern she thinks of the famous clock, the Bern Bears and the cobbled streets with arches- a UNESCO WORLD HERITAGE SIGHT.  She's just back from Bern.

What else is Montreux famous for?

Château de Chillon

Dr Anne remembers passing Chateau Chillon in 1970. Today she stopped and viewed it n depth.  It dates back to the 11th century.  Rousseau visited. Lord Byron visited. Here's a flavour.

Montreux

Dr Anne set off early for Montreux.  She changed trains in Lausanne.  After visiting the old town she headed along the esplanade to Chateau Chillon.  The sun was shining.  It was mild.  The flowers, well amazing.  The camellias are in full bloom.  The bulbs are in full bloom.
