East Neuk's Spring

Spring is advancing and gradually Dr Anne is making her way around the garden.  The daffodils came into flower quickly.  The crocuses are well advanced. The first flower has appeared on the camellia.  The first azalea is almost in full bloom.  Oh how Dr Anne loves this season.

An amazing azalea.

Some colourful primroses bought in Inverurie Garden Centre on Wednesday.

Trip to Edinburgh

Dr Anne and GGC went to Edinburgh to visit their buddy who has had a serious accident.  They set out mid morning and took the train from Aberdeen  - Edinburgh.  Dr Anne met her minder from her Council days.  They had an energised catch up so much so the GGC slept all the way from Aberdeen to Edinburgh.  Once in Edinburgh GGC followed Dr Anne's directions to the tee.

It was a beautiful sunny afternoon when Dr Anne and GGC walked along Princes Street.  They headed for Waverley and the longish journey back north.

Another party

On Thursday Anna, Rebecca and Hannah (Anne McArthur's Dancers) invited Dr Anne for coffee and home bakes as they had been thinking of her these last two weeks while she restled with the death of her aunt.  Anna had been busy in the kitchen making ginger biscuits and mars bar krispies.  Rebecca had bought a card and flowers.

The group had a great afternoon.

Spring

Spring definitely came this weekend.

Dr Anne was out relishing a tidy up, some feeding and pruning.

What a happy time.

The grass has had its second cut.  The strawberries are fed.  The roses against the dyke and in the pots are fed.  The Sheddie is swept out.

The spring flowers bring so much joy.

Another Gathering

This week's gathering was a celebration of Auntie Cath's life.

There were beautiful floral tributes from the family and the Seafield family.

A goodly number of family and friends were in attendance.

The sculptures were great.

The birds of paradise remind Dr Anne of Madeira.

Th only rhoddie almost in bloom.

Easter activities.

The Audience

Dr Anne went to The Audience with Helen Mirren when in London.  This was an amazing performance with Helen Mirren as the Queen meeting with her prime ministers.  Dr Anne thought that all the prime ministers would be represented but no...  Who was there - Churchill, Eden, Wilson, Brown, Cameron, Thatcher, Callaghan, Major.

Go if you get the opportunity.

Dr Anne has just returned from a long weekend in London.

She celebrated Easter with The Passion Play on Good Friday @ Trafalgar Square.

She then headed to Covent Garden to inspect the Easter Eggs.

Saturday was a traumatic days so Dr Anne had a few contemplative moments in St Martin in the Field then went to the crypt for soup and apple crumble, to be recommended.

On Easter Sunday Dr Anne celebrated at St Martin in the Field.

In the afternoon, she headed to Kew Gardens to celebrate with the families.

Afterwards she went to Putney Bridge to watch the start of the Boat Race.
